Is it possible that Korean cultural properties in foreign countries are designated as National Treasures or Treasures?
- In pursuant to Article 4 of the Cultural Heritage Protection Act, cultural properties in Korea that have outstanding historic, artistic or academic value as a part of our national heritage are designated as National Treasures or Treasures.
- Therefore, Korean cultural properties held in foreign countries where Korean laws do not have effect cannot be designated as National Treasures or Treasures.
